Avignon - Splash and Dash !

A quick trip to Avignon and back by Commander 114b

High pressure over France and the UK was too good to resist so we planned a spur of the moment trip
from Sleap EGCV to Avignon LFMV

Leg 1   Sleap to Rouen

We chose Rouen as our customs/Fuel stop as we hadn't been there before and were interested to see how it worked out for future trips as its far enough inland to avoid d the worst of the coastal fog often suffered by Cherbourg and Dinard.

Of course the high pressure ensured we had morning fog ar Sleap but this clered by 100 and we were able to get going.

Routed down via Brize zone and coasted out over Chichester and direct to Rouen avoiding the mid channel danger areas.

Conditions gradually improved over the journey and it was CAVOK at Rouen.
This si a great little field with easy approach and parking, the only slight niggle is that although they have an Air BP terminal for the fuel you have to get the fueler to come and use a special key to activate it and then go back to the terminal to pay for this and landing.

We were bussed up and down by the fueler/landing fees guy and I had a nasty suspicion that a handling charge was on its way, but no! 10 euros to land and the fuel cost, spot on Rouen!
